Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a great experience here. We had a 1 bedroom chalet - it felt nicely secluded with beautiful green foliage, it was spacious, well stocked and had a nice view from the porch and a really comfortable bed. We added the breakfast, which was nice (coffee, juice, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, bread and eggs to order). It's a 10-15 min walk to Hooked and the outfitters, although AquaTaxi and R&R Kayaks are closer. It's only 5-10 min walk to the park entrance and the Park Cafe (where we had 2 really good dinners, pizza and fresh catch of the day). We would definitely recommend!

The most amazing view from the chalets, and the nicest couple who runs this place. The hostes have a huge insight into the area, and have great inputs to activities, that helped us a lot. I can highly recommend this place and wish we had more time here.

A brilliant stay in this fabulous resort. Chris and Jared were more than helpful. The walks from here are amazing. We ate in one of the restaurants nearby called The Hook. The food was really good. A fantastic place to stay.

What's not to love about this place? a gorgeous cottage overlooking the sea in the forest? We stayed here for six nights to walk the Abel Tasman track, go kayaking and sightseeing. Checking out was very difficult! Its an easy stroll down to the waterfront, to the track and the eateries and corner store. The kitchen is compact but has everything you need to cook a meal although a little bit of planning is required with the combined oven/cookplate which is a bit tricky to use in the beginning. Keep it simple. Service here is very personable and they will help with bookings for kayaking and water taxis. Cant wait to go back.

My wife and I took a self drive touring holiday on South Island New Zealand from the 17th March to the 11th April 2023. Apart from the first 2 nights and the last night where we stayed in a hotel in Christchurch we were self catering and stayed in accommodation that offered cooking facilities. I have reviewed each of the hotel/motels we stayed in. The following reviews cover the accommodation and some of the facilities/visits we made on the trip. If you would like to view the rest of the reviews please click on my username and all my reviews will be listed. Days 18 to 22 of our self drive tour of South Island March/April 2023 Abel Tasman Ocean View Chalets 5 stars We stayed at the superb Abel Tasman Ocean View Chalets for 5 nights from the 1st to the 6th April. The view of the ocean from our chalet was excellent. Welcome. We were given a warm welcome by Jared the co-owner and were given a bottle of milk. Jared gave us details of how to get to the Abel Tasman National Park and details of where to find some walks in the area. Service. We asked to only have the room serviced once and it was done very well. We used the self service washing machine behind reception to wash the dirty laundry that had accumulated over the previous two weeks. Location. The Abel Tasman Ocean View Chalets are located a few minutes walk from the main entrance to The National Park. We were able to walk from our chalet into the park and on to a path along the coast. Comfort. The chalet was very comfortable and tastefully furnished. It consisted of a lounge area with a dining/breakfast table and chairs, a single bed, two easy chairs and a flat screen TV. The lounge area had windows on three sides giving a lot of light. It had a separate bedroom with a king size bed and a bathroom with an excellent shower. The bed linen was good quality and the towels were nice and fluffy. On the balcony there was a table and two chairs. The kitchenette had quite a lot of storage space for food and cooking equipment. There was a multipurpose oven/microwave with two electric plates combined in one unit. (See photo) When trying to cook a meal we found that you could not have the hobs and the microwave/conventional oven working at the same time. If you intend to do a lot of cooking you might be better off taking the larger Premium Chalet which has a full stove, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Cleanliness. The unit was very clean as was the bed linen. WiFi. The Wifi was excellent. We had a very good signal and I was able to stream UK TV programmes using a VPN on my laptop. Conclusions. The Abel Tasman Ocean View Chalets are an excellent place to stay. The view of the ocean from the chalets is really nice. It was very comfortable and an excellent location. This was one of the nicest places that we stayed in.

Location and Welcome: First Class Five star welcome and helpfulness from Chris who, upon arrival, sorted us out with the sea kayaking trip we’d been thinking about. The chalet accommodation did indeed have an ocean view and although it was quite small the room was very clean and contained everything we needed for our two night stay. We opted to take their breakfast which was a buffet and included eggs cooked according to preference. It was very nice and set us up for the day. If our itinerary had allowed, we’d happily have stayed longer.

We stayed at the Chalet for 3 nights. The apartment was very well maintained, spacious, very clean. We really enjoyed our stay. It is very quiet and nice setting and we had a great view from the balcony to the ocean with wonderful views of the sun rise from our bedroom. The communication with Chris was great and very friendly and helpful. Thanks for the wonderful stay.
