Went there to visit the palace. Its a expensive visit for 100 rupees per head all you can see was the main lobby and back garden that too half of it. Nothing much to see A commercially viable venture by government Even the lawn was hired by some company for product launch

The Palace Hotel Chail was used by the Maharaja of Patiala for entertaining guests. It has a huge green lawn about half an acre fringed by trees some of which are more than two decades old .It is a huge sprawling estate which is so big that it would cost crores to simply build a boundary wall. Generations of government... More

Stayed there for two nights and it was a rest and leisure. The Palace with its grounds is a splendid. However, I agree with some of the other reviewers that much needs to be wanted in terms of maintenance of the rooms and some of the campus. The manager and the staff are courteous but at a height of tourist... More

"This is like any other 3 star Motel" It is ok if you are just looking for a rest house of any kind. Overall presentation , cleanliness , warmth and courtesy of the staff all is far below the standard. Sense of having spent our quality time in a heritage property admist the warmth of Indian culture was missing. Nobody... More

i went to this hotel in feb 2013 with my family. In terms of royal feeling you only get a big room and nothing else. uncomfortable mattresses, dirty bed linen, dust laden carpet, smelly quilt, discourteous staff and above all , the monkey menace. there are many things in this palace which will surely spoil your vacations. it is a... We were positively surprised that a state govt run tourist hotel could be maintained this well. We stayed at the Rajkumari rooms, which were very large, with high ceilings and huge washrooms. The entire palace was beautiful, the large rooms, the lovely lawns, the green woods... We spent our entire time walking around the property (when it was not raining).... More

We opted to stay in Maharaja Suite to get a feel of how the real Kings lived during their time. Instead of providing two double bedrooms, they have provided a double-bed in a corner of that huge living room. A bad compromise indeed! I am sure, no Maharaja ever lived like that...Other bedroom was quite good and well furnished with... More

We stayed in Log Huts at Chail Palace.Well, it perfectly suited our idea of a holiday i.e a calm, serene , green and clean place. While many, especially with kids or older parents, may not prefer log huts as they are situated at a distance (at least a KM from the main palace building) with no room service facility. But... More

Well maintained, peaceful property. Good service and attentive staff. Prices not so steep when compared to similar properties elsewhere. Not a lot to do except laze on the grounds and go for long walks. Video games not functioning, and massage centre/spa only open in peak April - May. Decent food. Log cabins far from the main property, but clustered next... More
