Stayed in Hanoras Cottage for a quiet getaway and found it to be just what the doctor ordered. We were offered tea/coffee and cakes when we arrived which was a nice touch and the room was lovely, as was the large jacuzzi in the bathroom. Dinner was very good - starter of crab in pastry was fab as was my... more

Our two- night stay (B/B and D) was most enjoyable, and was an excellent base for visiting Count Waterford(coastal beach, inland mountains, historical towns and buildings and lovely gardens) along quiet roads.Good walks from the hotel. The Wall family has run this excellent homely hotel for over 30 years, and it is very well furnished with lovely lounges, dining room and bedrooms. The en-suite jacuzzi... more

my husband and I went to Hanora's Cottage for a rest during a very stressful time. Our room was beautifully decorated but was located directly over the kitchen. We got no sleep as the noise of the staff calling to each other, the door from the kitchen to the dining room was constantly banging and the clattering of dishes went... more

My walking friends and I spent the few days between Christmas and the New Year staying at Hanoras Cottage in the Nire Valley in County Waterford in Ireland. This place is very special, set in a secluded valley the area is peaceful and unspoiled and as there is one road in and the same road out , it isn't overrun... more

We went with friends for New year at Hanoras. Some of us had been there before for the Nire Valley walking festival in Oct 2006. It was ideal for the end of year, and for New Year's eve, a night I do not particularily lke. We were there for three nightsand it felt like staying in the house of some... more

Hanoras Cottage is a pure treat. I have been twice and will be returning again. From the moment you arrive you are treated with the best friendly genuine service. The walks in the surrounding mountains are amazing and the food is mouth watering. Try not to eat too much at dinner as you will need to leave plenty of room... more

We were recommended by well travelled friends who, like us, have used hotels all over the world. The friendliness and welcome at this cosy and comfortable hotel combined with the excellent food supplied by highly qualified and prize-winning chefs has to be experienced. We will definitely be returning. more

I stayed at Hanora's Cottage with my husband at the end of May 2007. I enjoyed my stay overall but there were some problems and let-downs. In summary I would say that Hanora's Cottage is a nice spot for a quiet break but it very expensive for what you get. The Location: I love this part of the world. Beautiful... more

Hi Folks. Just back from a great break in Hanora's. Initially I was concerned as to be honest as we had never stayed in a guest house (preferring hotels) however after looking at reviews and talking to people i decided to give it a go. You may think that I gave it too much thought, but the two nights including... more

We stayed for a weekend. Fantastic location and great drives and walks in the surrounding countryside. Rooms spacious and clean but over heated and stuffy. TV too small and worked intermittently. Jacuzzi nice. Breakfast excellent. Dinner good but waiting staff not as friendly as the proprietor. Overall a reasonably pleasant experience, spoiled by a few shortcomings. Expensive for what you... more
