me and my husband stayed here for my birthday.We arrived about 6.45 pm and was greeted at the door my the manager,he was very friendly and showed us up to our room.The room was lovely,very traditional with four poster bed and all the old features.The manager explained the building did'nt have central heating but there were 2 small heaters we could leave on so the room was warm when we returned from dinner
(the room was never cold,we turned them off over night and the room was fine in the morning,there are fires downstairs which warm the whole building).
We went downstairs for a drink and went into dinner about 8.30.The menu was fab and everything was very seasonal and obviously home cooked.The waitress was very friendly and service was good throughout as was the food.After dinner we had coffees in the snug bar.Breakfast was a slight letdown as there was no one about,we went and found a table and a chef came out after a while and took our order.Again food was lovely.
