Juma is a very remote lodge, and this makes it special. It is located far away from Manaus, so we can feel the real jungle! It is very exciting to stay in a bungalow with a view to the Juma Lake. Besides the great view, the privacy itself worths a stay. The sounds of the jungle is amazing. Most of... more

On a positive note: Because of its small size, Juma might offer a slightly better experience than some of the larger lodges in the area. So, if you're used to a "tour group mentality," you'll like this place just fine. After all, The beauty of the jungle surrounding the lodge is why you're here, as long as you don't have... more

3 hours journey--and what a journey!--from Manaus is the small collection of bungalows that make up Juma Lodge. We went when the rivers were high--so the boat journey felt like we were flying over water. The lodge is rustic--you are in the middle of the jungle--but comfortable enough. There are showers in the bungalow but the water is from the... more

We booked our stay at Juma Lodge through [---], based on the recommendations in the reviews of other visitors to Juma. Viverde offered us a better rate than by going through the lodge directly. The lodge itself was wonderful, with beautiful bungalows nestled within the Amazon jungle, and pet monkeys, macaws and even a tapir roaming the grounds. The staff... more

We spent 4 days in this wonderful wonderful lodge. It lies in a perfect location with a river on one side and a lake on the other (all privately owned by the lodge). The crew at Juma lodge is excellent and go out of their way to accommodate all requests. Food is beyond description, fresh fish everyday with other assorted... more

The Juma Lodge was excellent, we had the most amazing 3 day 2 night adventure of our lives. I think if you are looking for the TRUE Amazon experience....the Juma Lodge has it! The accomodation was excellent, the food was outstanding, our guide and the boat guide were fantastic and so knowledgable. Our transfers from Manaus to Juma Lodge and... more

Getting here is an adventure itself. Van, boat, van, boat with beautiful scenery on the way! Lovely place on stilts and you each get a beautiful lodge to yourself. A bit basic but you need that for a more authentic jungle experience. the trips from there were amazing and our guide was amazing and so knowledgeable. It is truly breathtaking... more

I booked Juma Lodge through Luciana at Viverde Travels. We were extremely pleased with our choice. The lodge was located on Juma river. We took a boat from Manaus, then a van drove us to the river, and we took another boat to the lodge. It took us 3-4 hours to get there. Each couple/person had one "cottage" or bungalow.... more

Two Friends and I stayed at the lodge for 5 days this past Feb. I found the lodge a great mix of amzon remoteness with enough facilities to still enjoy yourself. The staff at the lodge was very plesant and accomoidating. Meals may have lacked varitey but made up for in quality and quanity. The guides we had really made... more

We stayed in Juma Lodge in January, 2007, and we really enjoyed our stay there. The lodge is small and remote, and you really get the feeling like you are in the jungle. The accomodation is simple but very clean. The food is simple as well, but delicious enough for me. Yes, it was repetitive, but you are not there... more
