Having read that this hotel was run by Basil Faulty, it was a must to stay. Fantastic host, good food and pleasure to stay. Those of you with no sense of humor, easily offended and of questionable personalities should stay at home.

Just back from a long weekend and the Crown was the normal joy. While the Crown was a pleasant place for a drink at the end of a day's walking, the quality of the food was dreadful: garlic mushrooms in a nasty-tasting sauce, overdone and almost black Yorkshire puddings, a steak and ale pie that was completely dry inside, and lasagne that was burnt underneath.

thank you so much for the welcome, humour and lovely pub food. we were wet from the rain, but by the morning our coats and boots had been dried, and following a hearty breakfast we left feeling warm and full. the room was comfortable and warm, and lovely hot shower. thankyou. Karen and Tim.
