Le Charmois was our most pleasant stay in Belgium.
Le Charmois is a nineteenth century farmhouse, lovingly restored by Barbara Beeckman and Kris De Pauw, sitting on several acres of pastoral land in the Belgian Lorraine. More specifically, in the Semois Valley of the sunnier Gaume region of Belgium.
It is minutes away from Chiny, Florenville, Virton, the Abbey of Orval; quaint hamlets along the Semois: Jamoigne, Chassepierre, etc.; and the French border.
Though the farmhouse has a pleasing rustic feel, the public rooms, individual guestrooms & bathrooms, as well as the furnishings, have a comfortable modern flair. The views from every window are beautiful and relaxing.
In the morning, a delicious Continental breakfast is waiting for you in the main room: croissants, meats, cheeses, Nutella, yogurt, juice, and good coffee. All to be enjoyed with a view of the countryside.
