Booked this hotel for two couples through hrs dot de
Location good, parking space fine; hotel owner and his wife are an elderly couple in their late sixties who made a clear impression on all four of us that they were fed up with having guests, especially foreigners (we were 2 Germans, one South African and one Irish). When we arrived around 20.30 the lady owner was at the reception and made us feel rather unwelcome. Not one friendly word! The rooms are ok, the beds fine. Supper in the restaurant was unimaginative, the wine was bad. Breakfast on Sunday morning around 9 am was disappointing to say the least: there were three stale croisants between four of us and a small selection of bread, marmelade and some cheese. When we complained about the stale croisants we were just told there was nothing else, but later we discovered a bakery open 5 minutes walk away from the hotel..... Checkout was again very unfriendly. I'd rate it overall still as just okish, but this hotel has...
