I stayed in the Ochsen a few times whilst I was working for a company based in Tamm. It was nice staying somewhere local that was a huge international hotel. this place has a real family run feel, quite traditional for the area (near Stuttgart). They serve good wholesome food, that has a sort of homecooked feel to it (hey what do I know about German homecooked food, my German mates seem to eat mainly Italian food at home). Also, of course, wonderful wonderful German Wiessbier. Oh that stuff was nearly the death of me. It tastes so good and is so easy to drink, but its bloomin' strong as well. Its a bit like when you go to Somerset in the UK and drink scrumpy (local cider) - a landlord of a pub there once said to me, watch that stuff it gets you from the legs-up! Very similar, its not until you get up to slip off to the loo, that you realise the insidious effect of this wonderful drink!
Anyway, the rooms are pretty rustic too, comfortable and quite cozy, with nice little touches... more
