I stayed in the Riu Olot in January just after new year with my partner. It was a nice clean hotel and we got a good deal including breakfast. To stay here I would say that you really need your own transport as although it is fairly near to the town it wasn't really in walking distance to any restaurants. We tried to drive into the town to find somewhere to eat in the evening but it was more or less gridlocked and it took us ages to find somewhere to park and eat.

The hotel was obviously in a quiet period when we stayed, and I'd imagine that there would be more going on during the summer months and there might even be a restaurant on site.

The view from our room was very nice and looked out over some nice countryside but we didn't have a balcony. The rooms on the other level did. The room itself was pretty 'chintzy' and reminded me of something that my mother would love but we couldn't fault the facilities even if the decoration wasn't really to our taste... more
