We just returned from a fantastic week at the Äkäskero Nature Resort in Finish Lapland on the Swedish border. The hotel can only booked as an all inclusive package with winter activities such as snowmobile tours and husky mushing. The lodge is in traditional Finish style with 18 small rooms and 5 log cabins. There is also a traditional sauna one the lake. After being in the sauna you can jump into the ice hole to cool down! The setting is absolutely beautiful in the middle of a national park on a lake and surrounded by hills. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. From the hotel you can snowshoe, hike, cross-country ski and dog sled through the park.

There are no other hotels / restaurants around. The airport of Kitillä is a 40 minute drive. The next village is also about 30 minutes away. There is no tv, radio or internet connection for the guests in the lodge or rooms. The rooms also do not have phones.
