Have to say if you want to see the Northern Lights and the Icehotel then it is worth the time to get there and the expense. Best going up to Abisko to see the lights even though the accomodation there is quite basic. Really old and useless chairlift takes you up to the Aurora Sky Station so be for prepared... More

we took a day trip from camp ripen in kiruna. we snow mobiled to the ice-hotel had a tour, and snow mobiled to a cabin for an awesome lunch of reindeer, potatoes and carrots with gravy, warm lingonberry juice, muffins and coffee/tea! my favorite activity of our entire stay. the ice hotel is beautiful, but not like i expected. i... Having read a lot of the reviews on Tripadvisor we knew we were going somewhere unique but were expecting a few pitfalls. Lack of sleep, maybe less-than-perfect service, annoying changeovers between rooms etc. However, our experience was that these negative points simply failed to materialise. Every single staff member we met - from the Warm and Cold Reception areas to... More

We have just returned from 4 days at the Icehotel and had a fabulous time. However a visit to this hotel requires careful planning and if you are going on a budget my advice is don't go! To stay in the cold rooms are an experience of a lifetime but you only want one night and then move to the... More

I took a tour from Kiruna to see the Icehotel, so I'm one of the happysnapper day trippers who turf guests out of their room so we can get a look around! It is absolutely a must see, and one of the highlights of my trip up north. That said, I would probably not stay here now I've seen everything... More

OK, you'll either love or hate the idea of sleeping on a bed made of ice in a hotel made of snow and ice. It's very expensive to get to Jukkasjarvi and expensive to stay in the hotel too, so you've got to really want to experience it and also accept that -5C is not the ideal temperature to go... More

No doubt, a great experience, but a rather costly one if one does not go for a package deal. One night in the ice part of the hotel is great, but one night is enough, as one cannot stay in the ice room during the day. Food and drinks are on the very expensive side and choice quite limited. Staff... More

We had a wonderful time. A lovely surprise for my other half with a lot of activities included. Indirect flights which wasn't an issue for us. One night in the Rock & Roll suite made our night and we've a certificate to prove it! Highly recommend booking the Art Suites! We booked through the hotel the ice sculpting class and... More

We booked this trip from the UK with Discover the World as it seemed to be the only agent who could offer a direct flight. Other flights are available and you have to change at Stockholm but there appeared to be too long a wait between transfers. We departed from Heathrow and the actual flight was great. There's 5 rows... More

Spending the night in ice room was an adventure of a lifetime! The staff at IceHotel made it easy. The rooms were beautiful - even the non-suites. They gave us a 15-20 minute talk on sleeping warmly. All of their advice worked; my husband and I slept so warmly that I was unzipping my side of the double sleeping bag... More
