A special holiday! Accommodation Stay in a suite for one night if you can. The night you stay in the Ice Hotel, I strongly recommend booking a warm room (chalet) also. A previous reviewer suggested this – thanks! It may seem an unnecessary expense but means you have somewhere to relax comfortably and unpack, shower, etc while waiting to sleep... more

We went for 3 nights with Discover the world. Stayed for 2 nights in a warm room and one night in a cold room. We had to trundle luggage through the snow to the warm room which was basic but fine with 2 large windows so we could look at the view. We booked the trips before we got there... more

We travelled there in Feb 2009 through Scan Tours, for our wedding in the Ice Chapel. It was the best holiday we've ever had and enjoyed it so much, we're going back again in 2010. We've read some of the other reviews on here and we would suggest you do your research before going, so you know what you are... more

1. If you want to see the Northern Lights, then to give yourself the best chance, book with 'Discover The World' where you spend 1 night at the Abisko Mountain Station. This side trip is really worth it. We saw them from the top of the mountain. We didn't see a hint of the lights down at the Icehotel. 2.... more

I know this a belated review but the trip still has a WOW factor even now. We stayed in nearby Kiruna in a normal hotel for most of our time but spent one night in the ice hotel; see the website icehotel.com for pictures. Each year it melts and is rebuilt , sculptures from all over the word come to... more

We took the plunge and decided to opt for a differnet kind of wedding at the Ice hotel, Sweden. It was everything we imagined and more, the hotel accommodation both warm and cold was excellent, we couldnt fault it. We had a chalet near the ice hotel/church, it was a 2 bed chalet with plenty of space for us and... more

I went there not knowing what to expect it was expensive, but a marvelous holiday with the wow factor included we went husky sledging and snow mobiling and would have liked to have been there longer to try more things. The restaurant food was first class and the staff of the hotel went out of their way to be helpful.... more

Flew out to the Ice Hotel with Discover the World, who were well organised and managed to get all our excursions sorted easily too. The hotel isn't far from Kiruna airport and the flights arrived at a reasonable hour. We spent out first night in the 'cold' accommodation. We booked an art suite, more expensive, but it meant we got... more

The Hotel was even more that we expected. It is best for short stays, let's say one night, because it is quite uncomfortable due to the fact that you cannot stay in your room for the whole time of the permanence. Entire hotel is on showcase whole day to groups of tourists, so you have to keep your stuff locked... more

This was the best holiday my partner and I have or ever will go on!!! Everything was amazing, the snow was like nothing I have ever seen before. Sleeping in minus 5 was an experience, I would suggest to get an Ice Room though, they look nicer and you get a locker room instead of just a locker to put... more
