We stayed a night before a visit to Chartres having booked online well in advance. Because the A10 was closed...yes closed nd I blearily had the wrong address, we didn't arrive till 4 am when we fell into our bed in the chateau. The room was grand but not sumptuous and frankly the bedding seemed a little tired. It was... More

We chose this hotel for a one-night stay because it was part of the SLH Group. It is set in the countryside, not far outside of Paris, near Chartres & Rambouillet. What a hoot to drive up to your own chateau set in a lovely park! It is very old, but very pretty. We had a nice room, but it... More

Be very careful. I reserved a function room and the hotel tried to change it on the morning of the party and denied that I ever reserved it. Instead of the best bedrooms we were alloted a very poor room and told we had to pay EUR 1,000 to change it. The prices on the internet are less than the... More

We have been lucky to stay in many cool places, old houses and castles being our favourites, but I have to say that this was the best yet!!Hidden away in the french countryside, on its own grounds, we stayed in one of the corner rooms, overlooking the front lawn and moat. The dinner was probably the best we have ever... More

Exceeded expectations!! Beautiful property, supremely helpful staff, excellent, excellent food. The staff was friendly, our room looked out on the grounds which were lovely. It felt like Mr Darcy was going to come around the corner brooding about Lizzie Bennet. The only drawback to the chateau that I can see is there is no train at the village to take... More

A beautiful location with old world charm. Our room in the main building was large and comfortable. I enjoyed being able to open the window to enjoy the garden view. The breakfast was generous with many options to choose from. The mini baguettes were our favorite! It was an easy drive to Chartres for shopping/dining or to Rambouillet to catch... More

PROS: Beautiful chateau with lovely grounds. Perfect for peaceful strolls after the bustle of Paris. Staff is very pleasant, quite nice. CONS: As we only live a couple hours away from this chateau, we would really love to return, especially as we visit Paris often and prefer a quiet hotel in the peace of the countryside. However . . .... More

The hotel was very nice and smelled old (which it is). I proposed on a hot air balloon which launched off their front lawn. I really appreciated the service that we received. The food in the restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. I still dream about the foie gras trio. The truffle and asparagus soup was on the bland side... More

My partner and I stayed for one night in January 2013. The castle and grounds are magnificent, none the less. Our room was jolly charming with a fantastic view over the huge lake and canal system. Service fab, very nice and friendly staff. BUT the dinner was not worth the price. When you pay like a Michelin starred price you... More
