First off, we didn't have reservations but needed to stop driving around 7-7:30pm because it was dark and the road to Monteverde was rough driving! We stopped in and asked for a room. We needed a place to stay while visisting the Monteverde Rain Forest and this was close and an inexpensive place to stay. The room was dark and had very old furnishings. Really needed a good cleaning and a fresh touch added to the furnishings. We stayed in room #6 and if you must stay there room # 1 up front... more

Rooms were basic, no a/c, our room was quite humid, and smelt mouldy. The beds were old, and the pillows were even older, they were so lumpy, I might have as well been sleeping on rocks. Rooms had no windows that would open, no fans, and no AC. Therefore, they were hot and humid, and nothing could be done except to stay out as much as possible. The restrauntant was the same. The Innkeepers were not quite rude, but certainly not welcoming. Again, avoid this place! Dave Rickles more
