We may have had one of the worst rooms, and have US standards, but our room was very cramped with no heat or air conditioning. The "town" was about 1/2 mile away on a very rough dirt road. The grounds were very nice and breakfast typical, but even by the Costa Rica standards, an inferior experience.

A beautiful location very near to the village. The rooms were fine but lacked hot water as mentioned in other posts. We had multiple trips to the reception to get the water working usually resulting in the water working for about 30 minutes. Breakfast was simple but ok.

The grounds of Hotel Claro de Luna are gorgeous; however, everything else was sorely disappointing. We were in one of the "luxury" suites. We were here 1 night and had a great experience with the hotel. Very friendly staff. We had one of the rooms in the back of the garden and not in the main building. Big rooms with a porch. You can walk from the hotel to the village to find a restaurant.

The hotel is better than in the pictures,it looks like a Swiss chalet, with beautiful small gardens and you can walk to the center of town where the restaurants are .We stayed there 3 days with our 7 year old and love it, the staff it's amazing they went out of their way to please us. We had an excellent experience here. The staff are friendly, helpful, and extremely tolerant of exuberant, noisy children (ours). The setting is intimate yet afforded a lot of privacy. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, the rooms immaculate and luxurious. The breakfasts were delicious. We'd have loved an in-room coffee maker, but all in all, it was fantastic.
