This was my second holiday at The Hotel Catalonia Punta Del Rey. I usually try to move on and experience somewhere/something different, but when this "All-inclusive" holiday presented itself - I couldn't resist. And I was not proved wrong! The hotel was immaculately clean. The room was kind of Travelodge - no coffee/tea-making facilities. But, boy, was it a quiet... more

We booked this hotel last minute and stayed for nine days. We paid for all inclusive but we don't feel we got what we paid for. First impression when arriving at the hotel was good the reception area was clean and checking in was not a problem. The cost of the safe however was expensive £38 euros . The room... more

We arrived on Easter Friday 2009 to find the hotel mobbed with Spanish speaking nationals. The hotel would probably house in excess of 2000 guests and all of them were in the queue for the bar. During the first two days it really wasn’t worth trying to get a drink. The rooms are dated but our room on the top... more

We stayed for a week, all inclusive, from the Easter weekend. The hotel was busy over the weekend, mainly with Spanish families and couples but quietened during the week. The food was perfectly acceptable, great salads, we avoided the fried foods on the buffet as they didn't were not as successful on the buffet as the stews etc. The wine... more

We live in Tenerife and have just had a weekend break in this hotel. We were four adults and four kids aged between 4 and 12 years and we booked an "all-inclusive" stay. There is no doubt the hotel is tired, it has had better days. Most of the facilities are showing signs of wear and it's claim to be... more

We have just spent a week all inclusive at this Hotel. It is by no means out of the top drawer, but considering what we paid, we had excellent value for money. The food is plentiful with no shortage of variety at all sittings, breakfast lunch and dinner. Breakfast consisted of fresh bread rolls, cereals, yoghurts, fruit in abundance, hams,... more

We came seeking some low-cost winter sun and were pleasantly surprised by this hotel having had a disastrous '5*' out-of-season holiday in Turkey a few years ago. It is a long way from the party hot-spots (and airport) of the south but we knew that before we booked. We had hired a car so getting about was really easy for... more

Our week at this hotel was very enjoyable. Bedrooms were large, clean and with a seaview balcony overlooking the Atlantic.Staff were universally friendly and helpful. English people were in a minority, with Spanish and German guests in preponderance. Average age of the clientele was probably mid-fifties,but with a fair sprinkling of children and younger couples. Breakfast included full English, with bacon, eggs, sausages, tomatoes, baked beans, mushrooms -... more

I visited the Hotel Catalonia Punta Del Rey on Boxing day for a week away in Tenerife for the sun & new year. The hotel is approx 30 miles (40mins) away from the main Tenerife (TFS)airport. A taxi costs 50 euros each way. My advice is go to the bus station area at the airport and get a number 341... more

I visited this hotel for a first trip away with my partner. It was meant to be special but failed miserably on all accounts. I didn't read any reviews prior to booking...........big mistake. All of the critiscisms are fully justified, this hotel was terrible........the worst place I have ever had the misfortune to stay at! The food was self service... more
