'Hassenbrook Hall' is a charming grade two listed building Circa 1450 sited in walled gardens. Being close to London it had links to Royalty in the earlier years, the Hall was used as a retreat from London at that time due to the streets being used for the dumping of sewage because drainage wasn't invented at that time. Major renovation has now taken place over the years and is presented with five en-suite letting rooms equipped with hairdryers, T.V. Coffee/Tea facilities. A Buffet style Complimentary breakfast is also available. The Lakeside shopping centre is located seven miles from M.25.Junction 30. Local shops are a ten-minute walk with 4 public houses, two of which have restaurant facilities, apart from the other restaurants that are available. There is also a Co-op and a Tesco extra and a Train Station which is a short distance from the shops.

A charming and incongruous enclave within more recent development, the Hall, a listed building, dates back to the 14th century and has retained much of its complex history in the fabric of the building and layout and planting of the attractive garden. Add to this the cosy interior that remains true to its history in decoration and furnishing together with the warmth of the welcome, the efficient booking and the comfortable warm room with modern en suite and I have no hesitation in highly recommending it.

Found this place quite by accident, emailed owner, quick response to a very late booking from me. The house is steeped in history dating back to 14th Century & has kept most of it's charm with original furniture etc. We had a very comfortable 1 night stay, lovely chat with the owner upon arrival & upon leaving. If you appreciate history and some rustic charm, then worth a look. Room, en-suite was very clean, didn't stay for breakfast as had to rush off. Overall, good stay and would return.

My husband and I stayed here with our friends , as we were attending an event nearby. We had a warm cosy room with lovely views of the garden. The host Peter was very knowledgeable about the building and it's history, and a very good host. Nothing was too much trouble. Would be happy to come back , especially as the rooms are very reasonably priced. Suited our needs and wished we could have stayed longer than one night. Celia.

This place is simply the worst place I have ever stayed in. Never, I repeat, Never again. Only good point, good internet. I guess the clue was in the price as it was cheep but there is nothing else even remotely good to say.

Just got back home from a 3 nights stay at Hassenbrook Hall. Beautiful historic building surrounded by beautiful foliage. Listening to all the birds singing in the morning was a delight. My mother, younger brother and I stayed in one room together. We asked if we could stay in one room together. The host accommodated our request. My mother and I shared the double bed. While a single bed was added to the room for my younger brother. The room was cozy with a convenient small en suite. Very clean room with a tv, microwave and kettle included. Unfortunately, I somehow managed to break a vase as I was leaving. After some apology, the host was gracious enough to say it was ok. The host was very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again if I happen to be in the area again.

Stayed at Hassenbrook Feb 2018 with my daughter who was attending audition at nearby Performers college. Clean and comfortable accomodation in quiet position. Loved the suit of armour in the reception and steeped in history. Would definitely use again.

We only live just round the corner, but boiler issues and a delay from the insurance company meant we have stayed here. However, I am glad to say I have the rooms are full of character and the owners are friendly and approachable certainly worth paying a visit
