Based on your positive reviews, we tried many times to book a room via internet. We thought it was a problem with the web site or email address. Upon arriving in Kafountine, it was clear that Hotel Le Karone has been out of business for some time. FYI...We stayed at the Fouta Djalon instead and had a great stay.
We stayed at the Karone Hotel in Kafountine for three nights in February 2010, travelling each day to the Karon Islands by boat as part of a project we were visiting. There were few if any other guests. The hotel manager (also doubling as the receptionist and cook!) looked after us very well, producing delicious food (primarily local-caught fresh fish)...
