I've just returned from spending a couple of nights in Boca Chica at Hotel Garant. I got advice from some folks here (most suggested Candil), but I chose Garant because it was a little closer to the beach, and every report I read about the place commented on how clean it was. This is a very nice hotel for people looking for a cheap place to stay. The rooms are clean and are ok, its no big luxury but its ok for a cheap stay. The restaurant at the hotel is expensive and does not include the coffee, so I would recommend the restaurant Camille which is about a 5 minute walk.... more
Stayed here for three nights and have to say I was disappointed. The rooms were ok but the distance from the beach (which is after all the reason we came to Boca Chica) is a negative. Staff was so-so and price is higher than other local hotels I investigated. I will try the Zapata next time. Right on the beach,... more
Great rooms especially the suites! Great breakfast and Senor Garant and his staff are so nice and helpful. Hotel is about 3 blocks from the beach....just a nice private safe hotel going back in July for one week.....my 3rd visit...... more
