Stayed here for my wedding night as a gift from friends. It was lovely, the room was light and airy and everything was immaculate. The owners left us a bottle of champagne and the next morning we had a lovely breakfast on the terrace and would heartily recommend Les Ramparts to anyone.

We stayed here one night at the end of our French trip. We didn't eat in the restaurant which, judging from other reviews, was a pity. We ate instead in a restaurant in the extremely sleepy village - a nice experience nonetheless and excellent value. The hotel took a little bit of finding. It had plenty of charm and our... More

We stayed at Les Remparts for four nights, initially because it is near to the Domaine at which we rent vines and we had come for the harvest celebrations. However it was immediately apparent that we had found a gem, from the warm welcome from the English owners, through the spacious and comfortable room to the delightful restaurant . We had an... More

We stayed for one night in this lovely place. It's so peaceful and pretty, a real getaway. The owners and staff were very welcoming and the evening meal was delicious - starters included smoked salmon with crayfish tails, and thai-style queen scallops. Mains were rack of lamb, and confit of duck, - rich but much less fatty than usual, then... More

The hotel is in a different building to the restaurant, which is only important if it is raining! Also, the restaurant is on the first floor so if you need wheelchair access meals are served either on the terrace (in summer), on the ground floor, or in the breakfast room in the hotel. Bed and breakfast 93.50 euro plus a... More

We stayed here on our way through France from Italy. Owned by an English couple Veronica runs the hotel and Steve is the Chef. I booked directly with the hotel on the telephone, which was confirmed by email. The hotel was full and the restaurant very popular. We had pre-dinner drinks on the terrace along with several other diners. There... More

We stayed here as my son wanted to stay in a castle and we all loved it. Veronica and Steve are fantastic hosts. Steve is without a doubt a fabulous chef and we had the best food we ate in the whole of France at Les Remparts. Gensac is a little quite but plenty of little towns around to sight... More

Great place to stay, very friendly, amazing food. Room ok, but everything else excellent. Veronica and Steve always on hand with advice or suggestions. We really enjoyed our stay here. Steve does the cooking, and the food is amazing, by far the most tasty and consistent of our stay in the area. Gensac is well placed between St Emilion and... More

This hotel is in a small village easily accessible from the Dordogne oir Bordeaux airport. Allow time to find it - the main street was closed with diversions when we went but knowing from other reviews that it was next to the church made it fairly easy to locate. This is a very quiet village off the tourist trail and... More

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in September. We arrived on Sunday afternoon and at first we were surprised how small and quiet the town (Gensac) is. The owners gave us some tips where we could scrounge up some food (which is tough to do on Sunday night in rural France). They do offer Dinner at the... More
