We used this hotel as a base point for visiting the Bale Mountains and Sof Omar Caves. Our room was comfortable but we needed a car to go into the main city area. Most of the hotels we've stayed in - you could walk to a local shop to buy water and other items. At this Wabe Shebelle you were reliant on the hotel for most items or had to drive. By the time you get to this hotel you are very tired of driving no matter what location you are coming from. The TV is the center point of the lounge. There are locals and foreigners alike at the hotel. The staff is kind and informative. Our room was clean and sufficient. Although I was not on a romantic trip- condoms were supplied-which I had not yet seen in any of my Ethiopian Hotel visits. There was no electricity and it was raining on the 2nd day of our visit but they provided us with candles (standard) and the lounge did have a generator and the staff constantly wanted to walk with me-because I was not using my umbrella.
