One can imagine a time when a stay in the Dormotel Regina was actually quite an attractive prospect. Occupying a prime position on Sankt Augustin's technology park and only a short tram ride from the heart of Bonn, the hotel must have appealed to both business people and tourists alike. It was probably around that time that the hotel was awarded an alleged 4 star rating. Since then, however, a lot has changed and this generous rating, much like the hotel's decor, has become long out of date.

Flanked by depressing concrete office blocks, a few local cafes, and a supermarket straight out of the 1970s, the Dormotel Regina and its surroundings are not exactly pleasing on the eye. Sadly, whilst 'beauty' may only be skin-deep, this drab, outmoded appearance extends throughout the entire hotel, from the quaint reception and bar area to the tired and fusty rooms.
