The rooms are spacious, but in need of an upgrade. It is fine for a night, but quite expensive for what you get. We had dinner in the restaurant and it tasted nice, but contained mainly canned vegetables, although there were also some fresh ones to be found on the plate. We appreciated the service for an early breakfast.

We stayed at the Katse village in one of the houses for one night. The houses are old and in desperate need of upgrading. I will not recommend staying over for more than one night, but even though the accomodation is not great, we were glad we planned to spend the night there for 2 reasons. It enabled us to... More

We stayed two nights in a "chalet" at Katse Lodge. The chalets are old housing from the dam construction project and are in very bad condition (at least the 2 we saw were.) Windows rotted, rugs stained and ripped, curtains ripped, window panes broken, plumbing problems, etc. Needless to say, they need alot of work. Definitely not worth the money.... More

The logde is NOT the main attraction but the view over the dam is. Not much to do so, this is the perfect time to relax with a good book looking out over the dam . I recommend the dam tour. Wanted to do the village walk but is seems they do not have guides available. Do not be enticed... More

Staff is friendly and helpful. The lodge is very basic, but clean. The beds are borderline comfortable. Bathrooms need some serious maintenance. The taps are leaky which a simple new washer would take care off and the shower holders are in some rooms rickety. Extraction fans are not always working. The Flyscreens are loose and tend to bang when windows... More

The lodge is basic and clean, the receptionist was very helpful and the staff warm and friendly, food was good. But I think the rooms / bathroom need a lot of attention and the bed was so uncomfortable. Upgrading the rooms / bathroom and investing in new beds would be a good idea. However the katse dam wall presentation was... More

We headed to Lesotho on a bike trip and spent one night at the hotel. I must compliment the chef on the meals but other service departments really needed attention. On check in we were greeted by the receptionist with a church service blaring from the TV behind us in reception. Check in went okay but I would suggest a... More

The lodgings are basic but comfortable and clean; as this is in rural Lesotho, one shouldn't have high expectations. However, we were pleasantly surprised with the panoramic view from the bedroom looking out on the dam; this alone makes up for any shortcomings. The staff (and all the people in Lesotho!) are such warm and friendly people and were always... More

We went as a goup of 6 people on a biking trip to Lesotho. We were there for 2 nights. The accomodation was functional and clean. They could upgrade a bit as it is an old building that needs some attention. The views are spectacular and the dining area was great. The food was good - breakfast was a good... More

The location is unusual, but the views are truly spectacular once you get there. The lodge was originally accommodation for engineers building the Katse Dam. Unfortunately the hotel urgently needs investment in the bedrooms and bathrooms - everything was functional, but basic and dated. The beds were dreadfully soft and creaky - if I spent money on one thing, it... More
