  "Yes! The hotel is very old and a bit run-down, as are most of the hotels in the area ... the rooms are averaged-size, simple, but clean. The onsen (public bath and outside bath) are wonderful. The water is so smooth and silky and not too strong - easy to soak in, for ages. The big Japanese dinner an..."d (not too big) breakfast were excellent - with a great deal of variety, each dish had it's own unique taste and obviously takes a lot of time to prepare. (But, you have to be able to appreciate good Japanese food to enjoy it fully.) They offer complimentary coffee (not too bad) but no tea or juice for kids, unfortunately.   "When I arrived at Unazuki train station, the hotel receptionist had waited for us. He first took us to retrieve the reserved tickets for Kurobe Gorge and then took us to this hotel. I like the atmosphere of the hotel, clean, warm, spacious and quiet. The room is well-decorated, very peaceful and spa..."cious. We chose seafood hot pot for dinner. It is delicious, but overpriced. There is only ONE open air spa. Male guests are allowed to use it until 20:45. At 21:00, it's female's turn. The spa area is small but clean. Things I may concern is that the hotel receptionists do not speak good English. When she led us to the room and try to explain some hotel rules for us, we have to use body language to communicate.   "On exit from Unazuki Onsen station, turn left and the hotel is located a short 100m away. The Kurobe Railway station is another 100m up the road. We had one of the 2 western style rooms. Room and large and clean, with a toilet only and no shower. Bath is to be taken in the indoor onsen on the top f..."loor. The onsen water is hot and smooth. We decided to forgo the Kurobe railway ride that day as we were told the walks around the upper stations were closed due to earlier snowfall. Instead So we went for a walk along a pathway located past the Kurobe station car park that takes you to a bridge that overlooks the gorge and a view of the red Kurobe railway bridge. During our visit in Nov, there were only 2 restaurants down the road that were open for dinner. We chose the less trendy oden restaurant, run by an old lady. The sashimi was thick cut and very fresh.
