In my humble opinion the only improvement would be a little more attention and warmth from the restaurant staff. They all performed their jobs well and the food was great but they lacked that schmooze factor that warms you up to the restaurant. The Grotta Giusti is a short, inexpensive train ride from Florence. So I could easily recommend this location for a day trip or overnight stay when visiting Florence. There are many more activities if interested and also very family friendly. " More >

We found some great places for dinner: Da Pellegrino in Nievole (about 15mn drive) is a Michelin rated restaurant with a nice atmosphere and Sotto Grotta in downtown Monsummano Terme, where I ate the best 'branzino' fish in Italy.
