  "First impressions were that the location was attractive, with fine views and peaceful grounds (we even saw a thrush building a nest in the fork of a tree right next to a path and less than 6ft above ground level) and the staff were genuinely friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our room in the Paddock b..."lock was a good size and very well furnished including a comfortable bed. I didn't like the décor very much (drab brown carpet and a lot of bare brickwork) but that's just a matter of personal preference; my husband thought it was fine. The en suite was a decent size and very clean but with a few defects. Its door didn't shut properly (except with a hearty shove). The washbasin taps need attention, especially the cold tap - it produces a very strong jet of water which splashes out of the basin on to the floor.
