  "We stayed at the Colonial House B&B between 19 Mar 2013 and 23 Mar 2013. The house has been beautifully restored. The rooms are spacious and airy. Our bathroom was across the great hall but it wasn't a problem at all as you feel like you are at home. Vincent and Louisa were the perfect hosts. W..."e had had problems with our visas to Sao Tome and had originally paid to stay 4 nights at the Colonial from 25 Mar 2013. However, after arriving at the airport in Praia for our 1:30am flights on 18 Mar 2013 to Sao Tome, the border police stopped us after noting that our visas had expired. We had flown to Madrid in December to purchase the visas for €50 each. We had to provide proof of our flights and passports to obtain the visas. We didn't notice until returning home to London that the visa was only valid for 60 days after the issuance date. We called the consular general for Sao Tome in Spain and he indicated that we shouldn't have any problems even with the expired visa so you can im... " More >

  "This hotel is beautiful. The pool is refreshing and the staff does an excellent job. We stayed here for a quick trip in April 2013 and it was a great central location to come back to after our daily adventures on the island of Fogo."

  "Had a double room upstairs, open onto a internal patio, at the bottom of which the small swimming pool is good to rinse of or cool down (small - no real swimming there, but pleasant). The rooms was about the nicest we good in our stay on the various islands - clean, decent bathroom, decent space,..." not shoddy etc. Set up as a 'traditionnal' house around internal court yard - might get noisy if people do not play by the house rules but in fact proved pleasant and no disturbance. Breakfast OK staff friendly and helpful (despite limited language skills). Very enjoyable stay. " More >
