He explained how to use the bus system which is frequent and cheap (except during elections!). The Lodge as many have pointed out offers spectacular views and in itself is an amazing residence. There is a standard breakfast each day of fresh local fruits, cereals etc. The real treat is at dinner with a variety of mouthwatering dishes accompanied by relaxing Jazz! I did a day hike with Grenada's infamous Telfor which was arranged by Mark. It is definitely a place to relax and unwind away from the resort bars and beaches. " More >

  "My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights last January. Our first impression was that the location is much more central and busy than we expected. This turned out to be a good thing as we were dependant on public transport while in St George. The hotel is about half way between St George and Grand..."e Anse and a fairly easy hike to each (and a very quick drive!). We were only here a few nights but many of the other guests were repeat/long term visitors and I can totally understand why. The cottage itself had everything we needed, everything was fairly basic but very functional. The porch was excellent, you can open double doors from your living room/kitchen to the porch so that you get that indoor-outdoor feeling that can best be enjoyed in the tropics. Best of all it faces west so you get a lovely sunset view every evening--have your own happy hour at the cottage watching the boats go by and sky changing from blues to pinks and purples to peach and orange.   "My husband, Jeff, and I have been to Grenada multiple times and have stayed exclusively at LaLuna for the past years.I can't say enough nice things about the facilities, the staff, or the location. It's VERY low key--which we like--and completely relaxing. We take the midnight flight from JFK to get..." in an extra day, arrive at laLuna, and, if the room isn't ready, eat breakfast and lie out by the pool for a nap. The staff remembers us when we get there and asks about our daughter who has come two or three times with us. The chef comes over to recommend dishes, and when we've eaten there several nights in a row, he has come over to ask if we'd like something not on the menu--and makes it for us. It's small enough that the staff remembers what you like and makes sure you have it. We like to be up on the hill for the view, although it usually takes me a couple of days to get in good enough shape not to have to make a few stops walking back up.
