(PE has an enclosed beach) The highl..."ights or NVR are manifold: first the cabanas are all set way back from the main road -- separated by a healthy amount of "jungle," so there is absolutely no road noise. Second, the cabanas are all very clean, well-designed, properly maintained. Third, the beach is gorgeous -- sandy white and expansive. Fourth, the hospitality is high-standard. Perhaps the only quibble is that the breakfast is a bit limited (starch and fruit, some eggs would be nice) and the restaurant (where you have breakfast) is not facing the ocean but is street side. But you can have breakfast delivered to your room, which is a nice service. This is *the* getaway for couples. A bit pricey but worth it. " More >

  "Went to Adonis last week with my husband and we had an amazing time. The hotel staff goes out of their way to provide a personal touch to accompany their perfect service. Veronica from the restaurant is such a delight and Marco and Paolo from the pool bar we awesome. The resort maintenance staff ..."kept the grounds and rooms spotless. The pool maintenance was also top notch. The biggest complaint found in reviews was the food. Most of our experience was good. Breakfast and lunch were the best menus. Dinner needs some help. I suggested using less sauce on the food as a way to improve the dish. The restaurant manager asked if there was anything I needed and I asked for ice cream. He brought it in the next day!! A few suggestions for visitors: Hire a car from Cancun to the hotel. While this is expensive there are many police checkpoints on the way. They stop tourists and you may have to pay a "fine". Parking is right on eht property for car rental peeps (like us). But just rent bikes and you never need to drive anywhere. Otherwise, all was well, and we will return to Los Lirios when we go back to Tulum! No safes in the rooms, so you have to give your valuables/passports to the front desk, and pick up by 11:00 each night. Kind of a pain, but that's the only drawback. " More >
