"We recently held our wedding at Kinnitty Castle and cannot praise the venue and the staff highly enough
The day itself and all of the interactions prior to the day were fantastic.
A few specific points below:
1. Staff on the day – everything ran very smoothly and the staff we dealt with..." on the day were great. Specific thanks to Andrew who ran the wedding and also to Simon who stood out but all staff deserve our thanks. Examples of excellent service were getting the order of service out in record time after we forgot, effectively herding people around, ensuring meals were served efficiently and that wine was kept topped up. An additional specific mention to the main bar man (didn’t catch his name) who was good craic with the guests
2. Food – wow ! All the food was amazing (good portion sizes, very tasty and very well cooked). We received so many comments from our guests about how good it was. Veggies were well looked after, having individual choices of 8 mains, which wa...

"This place is amazing. It has everything you would want from a Castle hotel:old yet comfortable, decaying but full of charm. The staff are wonderful and personally escort you to your rooms. The landscape and views are breathtaking and the horses are friendly, especially if you sneak them some wild d..."andelion.
I wanted a castle stay and I got it. Perhaps if you don't like showers that are hard to calibrate or pristine decor, don't stay in a 13th century castle but if you want an authentic, comfortable, clean, beautiful and friendly castle to stay in, this is the perfect place! Many thanks!

"When are you ever going to stay at a real 13th century castle! This was a treat for just the 2 of us. If you are looking to book for a romantic stay, be warned.......this is a popular venue for weddings, so please check before you book, or you could end up being in the middle of a loud, boisterous p..."arty lot. We were lucky (booked 2 nights.... Thursday & Friday). As we left a merry lot were arriving, with kids in tow.
The library bar was comfortable & in-keeping with the great Castle ambience, we asked to see the dungeon and other areas. There was so much more to the castle, you must go out to the courtyard and explore the grounds. The history is extensive.
The meals were all excellent. Service came with that great Irish humor.
It was disappointing to hear that in the past year, this great hotel was now owned by the bank, now in receivership. We wouldn't have known. Pricing is very reasonable compared to prior the GFC in its heyday.
Rooms are spacious, and of course old. Furnishin...
