  "We just got home from our first trip to Pelee Island and stayed two nights at Anchor and Wheel. Please don't expect a typical hotel experience when you get here! This is a small family-run B&B with a kitschy, homey atmosphere. The owner, Mark, is not at all gruff. He's quietly friendly, and work..."s fifteen hour days to run this place over the summer months, so if he sometimes seems preoccupied, this is why. We took a room in the small building out back, ground floor, with a big jacuzzi soaker tub. We only paid $125 per night and it was well worth it. After a long day out on our bicycles, a soak in the jacuzzi was amazing! We recommend ordering the buffet for dinner: it's a good value, and something for everyone, unless you are vegetarian. Yes, it is home cooking, and yes it is not luxurious and fancy, but who cares??? After a long day out in the sun, coming back to the hotel all sweaty and tired, you can relax here as if you were at grandma's old farm house out in the country!... " More >
