We did not get a CD player this time in our room, or a DAB radio, which I missed. The DVD player did not fit near the TV and had to be put on the floor, so you had to get down on the floor to press the buttons on the DVD to work it. Since there was no controller, I was unable to put the subtitles on the films I had brought with me, which since I am partly deaf, was annoying.   "First visit to this hotel. A bit faded and old fashioned but on the whole enjoyed the stay. One big problem was Sunday afternoon the ‘entertainments’ team set up loud speakers below our windows and we had THREE HOURS of non-stop ‘club’ type music. Absolutely awful. Would recommend Orchard Restaurant. Entertainment (besides loud speakers on the patio below our windows) was OK, a bit Butlins. We got tired of it on the first night and did not bother again but they tried hard and people seemed to enjoy it. The weather was so nice we could walk in the grounds after dinner. Gardens and public rooms were lovely. Talk and guided tour of house was excellent.
