Getting to the hotel in the centre of town wasn't easy and we did a couple of trips around the one way system before finally finding the entrance. The location really couldn't be m..."uch closer to the centre of town with lovely views towards the Cathedral. The hotel is a bit of a maze as it has obviously been added to over the years. No lift and a very steep flight of steps up to the bedrooms. The car park is the problem, not its size but accessing it. You drive under an arch then into a very tight and curvy pasage to the rear of the building. Twice we came nose to nose with someone coming in the other direction and then one of you has to reverse - not easy for either party. A simple stop/go system is needed. All in all, I wish to recommend this Bed & Breakfast to anyone who is visiting Wells and would also recommend anyone visiting Wells to visit the Cathedral and Bishops Palace, they are beautiful and very moving buildings.   "We are so glad to have found Ellie's B&B now that our daughter has been accepted at Wells Cathedral school. Ellie was so welcoming and calming when we arrived for the school interview, with her delicious tea and lemon cake. There was also home-made shortbread for later with tea. The dining area is l..."arge and airy. The breakfasts are delicious and beautifully presented, with an array of fruit, cheese, breads etc on a buffet table; cooked breakfasts are prepared to order. On my second, very rushed visit for a parents' meeting, she treated me like an old friend.The house is minutes from the school and beautiful cathedral city. Whether you are going to Wells to visit the incredible historical sights, or on school business, I would strongly recommend Ellie's.
