Finally, at a late hour, the staff at Ravenwood Hall gave us the good news th..."at there was still a room available, albeit the hotel was quite some distance from where we were. After a lengthy drive, we booked into the Magna Carta room and had time for a quick drink in the bar. The staff on duty were friendly, and exceptionally helpful even though we had arrived much later than would normally be expected. I think we were both really impressed with the quality of the room and the furnishings. The bed was beautiful! Sadly, we didn't have time to stay for what sounded like a mightily impressive breakfast the next morning as we had to leave at such an early hour, but the stay over in the beautifully furnished room was the perfect end to a fantastic day. Sally picked me up from the station and on arrival I was brought tea and lovely cakes which could be enjoyed in the lovely private garden which goes with this lovely place. The room was spacious and spotless with very comfortable beds and a great view of the garden. Not too far from the centre of town and the hosts were extremely helpful and friendly.
