  "I and 3 of my friends spent a long week-end Sintra and stayed at Casa do Valle. I was more than happy to have stayed there. Sintra is a lovely town, 3 days is not enough to see it all. We walked a lot, explored the town walking, hiked up the mountain by small paths and enjoyed the lovely views to ev..."ery direction. Casa do Valle is a perfect place to hikers and explorers. The rooms are nice and comfortable, Virpi is the best hostess ever, very kind and helpful. We got good tips where to go hiking, up the mountain, by the beaches, to the market etc... I just fell in love with Sintra and find it hard to imagine it without Casa do Valle. I am a nature-photographer (a hobby) and took hundreds of pictures on my trip. Definitely I do recommend Sintra to photographers, and Casa do Valle to stay at, because of the views and the garden. Also the possibility to use the PC at the "garden library" was great. " More >

  "We echo all praising preceding comments. We will just add a few extras (that will seem negative possibly but the idea is to give a full picture). The Nescafe coffee machine at breakfast has to be learned if you don't want automatic sugar. We eventually chose 'long coffee' and then hot water and a..."dded cold milk. The owner offered immediately to provide hot milk, when learning our requirements (just a tip as we found these machines in other hotels). The breakfast choice is very good. The staff are all immensely helpful. The steps up to the hotel are steep but again, if you ring the hotel on arrival at the street entrance, they will help you by carrying the cases. So make a note of the telephone number if you are in such a category (perhaps email beforehand). Just to stress everything is not too much trouble so we thoroughly recommend this delightful hotel. It is so convenient for public transport so leave the car behind and save the planet. " More >
