  "The Relais occupies a large, very old family home about a kilometer from the old town centre. The creeper covered stone and brick structure has been surrounded by contemporary buildings, but stands in a large garden, great for pre dinner drinks. It is family run, and the proprietors greeted us warml..."y. The foyer has an interesting eclectic mix of old furnishings, and free wifi. The ceiling of smallish room has massive beams. It has a parquetry floor, interesting old family furniture, asmall but functional ensuite bathroom. Our dinner last night was the best yet in Tuscany- a selection of excellent anti pasti; the mains were all good as were the deserts, and accompanying wines.   "We stayed here for four nights and were so sad to leave. Palazzo di Luglio is the most wonderful place--in a word, "paradiso." It is well located for day trips, especially if you are on the Piero Della Francesca trail. Our room was actually a spacious suite, filled with old world charm, from which ..."we had a beautiful view. Our host, Giuliano, could not have been nicer or more welcoming. We hadn't realized when we booked that we could dine there, but that is what we did for three out of our four nights, and the food was delicious. Giuliano asked us what we wanted and even prepared special food for us. One evening we had a cooking lesson. Giuliano's wine selections were also excellent, including the best vin santo we had ever had. Breakfasts were full of choices, and very plentiful. We felt more like guests in someone's home than hotel guests. We will definitely return, and the sooner the better! " More >
