  "Stayed here early January on a weekend. At this time Westerland is empty like you will rarely see it. Some die-hard Hamburgers bbq there buds with Cafe Orth's terrace heaters and few people from south of the Holsteinian border blend in, like us, being here on (transportation) business. So room rate ..."was a deal and we were given double rooms at single occupancy rate. That may have skewed my judgement, when I read the reviews of single room inhabitants. Staff is outstandingly nice and friendly ... And this seemed to be authentic not the kind of trained friendliness. The whole property seems to be a modernized "Altbau" and it has some charme. Unfornutaley the decorator must have been a 90ies post modernist with a new romantics tendency ... The weird dirt-style mirrors are all over the place. My room was in good shape and with a high quality bed. Some of the furniture is indeed out of style andeven alittle cheap, but on the other hand there is also lotsof nicely chosen detail in the hotel. ... " More >
