  "We recently stayed one night at this little place on our way back to Playa Del Carmen. It was our second visit. We actually went out of our way 20 miles to stay here as we had fond memories of our previous stay. We got a different room this time, which was very similar to the room we had before. ..." The only difference is it appears the hotel has replaced the palapa ceilings with a real ceiling. This lightened up the room some. The property itself is really delightful, beautiful grounds with a little dog, some chickens and a peacock. It is pet friendly and very low key. It's not close to town, so best if you have a car. Breakfast was better this time, we got good service, some toasted bread, butter, jam and fruit and coffee. Not gourmet, but for the price was just right. The facility shows age but is well maintained and has undergone some upgrades from the original construction. (They were pulling cable for a webcam while I was there, so check the hotel website for that.) Rooms are small yet very sufficient. Each has AC, ceiling fan, good privacy and plenty of hot water. However, the limited English capacity of the staff may be a problem for you and, if you want to watch TV (Why would you with all of the nightlife in the area?!), the cable stations broadcast primarily in Espanol.
