  "My husband and I stayed at the Verdanza hotel, from June 13th 2013 through June 17th 2013. Upon arrival we weren’t sure what to expect, based on reviews I had read prior. We were delighted when we arrived at the hotel, it had all we needed. It’s in close proximity to all the happenings in Isla Ver..."de, and close to the highway, for when you want to go check out another part of PR. The restaurants at the hotel are magnificent. Truly unbelievable, we were telling other tourists to come eat at our hotel. The staff was unbelievable, always holding doors open for you, always smiling, and there to help. They really go the extra mile. I spent some time in the other more “elite” hotels in Isla Verde, and the customer appreciation shown at those hotels did not compare to Verdanza. The Verdanza family really is the BEST. The pool area is beautiful, and open all night which was awesome, and the restaurants were open late.   "First and foremost the service is excellent from the moment you arrive to the time you leave. I do not like resort fees being added to your bill when you check out at the rate of approximately $44.00/day. Get ready for taxi shock which means you will pay from 10-45 dollars anytime you take a taxi a..."nywhere. This is based on zones. Old San Juan with its two very old forts is great and can be covered by walking or free trolley. Food away from the resort is from 1 to 5 dollars higher per meal than here in Florida. Bacardi factory is fun but with a $35 trip out and a $45 return I was glad it was free. We opted for the $12 ride to the pier and paid 50 cent each to ride the ferry over to Old San Juan and the a $21 ride to the Ritz. The ride back and forth to the airport with tip is also $21.
