  "Thank you for enabling me to find this place, TripAdvisor! I got to this budget B&B in the beautiful old town of Kutna Hora, an hour from Prague, last night and got the best welcome of my whole trip from the lovely owner/manager, Martina. Not only had she emailed me directions on my way over, she..." then greeted me with a broad smile (costs nothing!), asked how my journey had been. She showed me all the town's points of interest on a map and then uttered the immortal words: "I guess you might like a beer after your long trip?", thrusting a cold can of Kozel into my hands. The rooms are simple, but spotlessly clean, with lots of storage space for all my stuff, plus a great en suite bathroom / shower and free wifi throughout. Breakfast this morning was yet another highlight. Dodgy / lazy hoteliers around the world, take heed... do a good job, run a tidy ship and you may never have to complain about Trip Advisor ever again :) Oh, and this place's location is another big plus... right on t...   "We stayed in room 5, which has its own balcony with fairy tale views towards St Barbara Cathedral and the valley! I was in rapture watching a small stream meandering through green fields, cyclists crossing the small bridge, locals working their terraced gardens and cavorting dogs barking joyfully in..." company with chattering birds and tolling church bells. Awesome... And I have not even mentioned St Barbara Cathedral dominating a portion of the skyline! The room and bed was comfortable; a shower but no bath. Breakfast was very good with enough variety. Best bacon I've had in a while... Could've done with some more! Booked in at the Opat Hotel, a short distance away, and I have to commend the young lady there - she was absolutely superb. Very helpful, even printing bus and train timetables for us to speed our trip to Sedlec Ossuary. A wonderful experience at Vila U Varhanáře. " More >

  "Well miss this place... especially the food."
  "This hotel is not fancy, it's basic. But it provides those basics in ways that are well thought out. For instance, there was no electrical plug on my side of the bed in order to charge my phone, so the staff has run an extension chord from the nearest plug over to the night stand. Like I said... not..." fancy... but when I saw that the chord was provided it made me extremely happy. My wife and are had been staying in Prague for 10 days on our honeymoon. Our hotel was very nice, expensive, and provided plenty of comfort services. But all that being said... I miss Hotel Kreta more. The rooms are clean and ours had a large window that opened up completely and let in tons of light and fresh air. Or fancy hotel in prague fid not understand that fresh air and natural light can often be better than air conditioning and clever interior lighting design. The breakfast at Hotel Kreta is FREE, and the food served in the hotel reaturant is some of the best be ever had... especially the BBQ. ... " More >
