  "We stayed at Dwor Karolowka between Christmas 2012 and New Year's 2013. Overall I thought it was pretty good but not without some shortcomings. On the plus side it was reasonably priced, I found the desk staff very pleasant (no communication problems) and I actually thought the food (both the brea..."kfast buffet and dinner) were excellent. On the down side, as many have noted, it is quite a ways out of town. Cabs are not cheap in Zakopane and traffic can be pretty grim during tourist season - especially if you are trying to get through town. Our sons had a decent sized room but the room that my wife and I had was oddly shaped with a low roof we kept hitting our heads on and the bed pushed up against the wall. As another reviewer said, the rooms are also a bit dark and the motion sensor lights in the hallways that flashed on and off had me thinking I was staying at the Overlook Hotel and that Jack Nicholson would come around the corner at me with an axe! I am in the hotel business, and so I know the camera can do wonders with a skillful photographer. I must say, this hotel looks just like the pictures - absolutely beauti..."ful. The grounds are well cared for, as are the rooms, and the spa is among the cleanest and most beautiful I have ever experienced. The check-in staff was a little "unrushed", and that made me a little nervous at first, but they and everyone at the hotel showed themselves to be amazingly hospitable and helpful.   "High on a mountain with unforgettable views of snow capped peaks, and yet within easy reach of Zakopane. A group of 6 of us loved this hotel, very smart and clean ,with superb food. Value for money is probably the best I have ever experienced in any city or any country anywhere in my life."
