  "I am a senior gal traveling solo, and I chose the Chaleanor for my first night in Belize en route to Tobacco Caye. It was a good choice. The family couldn't have been nicer. I enjoyed meeting and getting to know several of them, from eldest son, Elihue, who provided me with much information about ..."the area to 6 yr. old "Spiderman". My room was basic but quite comfortable and clean ($37 US with private bath, tv, and fan but without AC, AC avail. for a fee). An added bonus is the rooftop vista where I enjoyed a welcome breeze and a 360 degree view at sunset of Dangriga from ocean to mountains from a chair near the blowing white linens drying in the evening breeze. As to the town and its citizens, when I took a wrong turn returning from the river, I was good naturedly escorted back by a local (Dave) on a bicycle; The people I encountered in the town were, without exception, friendly and eager to help, from Jason, the taxi driver, to Audrey, the very knowledgeable guide at the Garifu...   "Ms Dana is a great host, very kind and helpful. The rooms are clean and tidy. Prices good. Just remember, if you are in Southern Belize, it ain't the Ritz. So, adjust your expectations accordingly. (If you are complaining about garbage everywhere, then you've come to the wrong country.
