The grounds are spectacular and we appreciated the private, moonlit dinners we had on the dock. The entire staff was amazing--especially George who was incredibly knowledgeable on all the local animals (especially elephants!) and took us on a wonderful walking safari. We were able to easily get in-and-out of town, and really enjoyed that our surroundings we just outside of town, making things feel more peaceful and more secluded. I loved the on-deck massage I received and couldn't have asked for a better way to end our vacation. " More >

What a sight and how on earth did they build that bridge more than one hundred years ago! The original VFH was set up as a fairly spartan hostelry for those associated with the building of the bridge but over the years has expanded several times to cope with the ever increasing number of guests. It retains a wonderful old world charm and we spent a fascinating morning walking the corridors looking at the memorabilia there.
