I ende..."d up spending my birthday there and Gonzalo and Julia threw me a birthday barbeque bash! There was intense ping-pong and a great celebration that lasted into the night. They were also very helpful in telling us information, advise, and the history about the area! Originally from Santiago, Gonzalo offers some great advise and info on all the areas in between and in the past he also gave tours as well.   "Luxury a little faded, but who cares?"
  "When this hotel was built, it was no doubt the height of chic. These days the fabric of the building is looking a little the worse for wear - but this is probably inevitable given its location, just feet from the corrosive waves and spray of the Pacific Ocean. Likewise, our room smelt a little damp ..."- but again, the waves were only about 10-15m from our window - so it was a price we were happy to pay! Our rooms (we stayed twice - a couple of nights apart) were comfortable and well-furnished. The public areas were lovely - especially the restaurant, with an outdoor terrace overlooking the swimming pool - again with the ocean just beyond. Breakfast was good (the best we had in 3 weeks in Chile), with a nice selection of hot and cold food, and impeccable service. Dinner in the restaurant was also good enough that we felt no inclination to look further afield. All-in-all, a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay.
