  "Off the beaten track and worth it"
  "It was the last night of our 10 day tour of Northern Honshu and Hokkaido and this was in a great location, close to the Hon-Hachinohe train station. Very easy to get to, short walk or cab ride (¥650). We were greeted at the door by the friendly proprietors, even though we arrived late. They asked..." us if we wanted to bathe in the onsen first or dinner first - since it was after 8 pm we went with dinner. Phenomenal crab and local seafood dinner! The quality and quantity of that dinner - including beautiful appetizers, sashimi, crab (kani) hot-pot (kind of Japanese simple broth fondue where you cook the food yourself called shabu-shabu) - made this simple Ryokan a great value. Otherwise, the inn is small but quiet and super clean. The rooms are Japanese style (futon on the tatami mat floor, shared bathrooms).
