  "This was my 3rd trip to Yap and my 1st time staying here. I found the hotel to be just perfect. The staff is extremely helpful and the rooms are absolutely lovely. The restaurant is equally nice, the staff is so great, and the food scrumptious. There's a nice pool area, too. But the best part..." of this place is the dive shop. Dieter runs a good operation with highly experienced, superior local guides and boat captains. The manta rays – lots of them - were mind-blowing and the other sites were equally fantastic. Dieter’s shark feeding dives are really superb, too. I emailed Dieter to book the room and dives and always got a quick pleasant reply. He made me feel very special with his nice emails. After 2 or 3 dives we would get back to the resort and gather around in the evenings for fun and story-telling. Can’t wait to go back! " More >

  "Intimate and full of character"
  "As you walk in there is a gorgeous front porch with rocking chairs. The hotel is so intimate with only a few rooms and you feel like you have stepped back in time and are staying at someones house down South in Charlestown. Sepia photos, an old gramophone, wooden floorboards and an old- school libra..."ry. It reminded me of that old show the Ghost and Mrs Muir I kept waiting for the ghost of an old seafarer to pop out with his pipe to share a mint julip on the porch. The rooms have a spot for everything (even a great dive closest) with lovely white wooden porchs that jut out straight over the water. I can't remember the last time I was this relaxed. The staff are lovely and organised a driver to take us on a trip around the island including an amazing "Indianna Jones" like jungle tour to see WWII planes with ferns and nature overgrowing them-very cool.   "We will return!"
  "We spent a week at MRBR, with 5 days of diving. There is almost nothing that could have been any better! The staff is the most genuinely friendly we've ever encountered; their default answer to any question is "yes" or "however you want"; frequently checking to make sure everything was just the way ..."we wanted. Rooms are spacious and airy, all amenities well thought out (there is even a drain hole in the shower soap dish so your soap doesn't get soggy!). We had a water-view room & I'd recommend that -- lovely to watch sunset from our balcony. The only minor negative to be aware of is that Internet is expensive, slow/intermittent, and available only in the lobby. The restaurant has a limited selection (understandable when food has to be shipped in from far away) but everything we tried was good. Breakfast buffet has a wide selection including house-made pastries, eggs made-to-order and pancakes. Special requests were cheerfully accommodated if the item was available. The open-... " More >
