  "Here we are out on an adventure trip in Iceland. We'd just dove the Silfra fissure then hiked down a lava tube. now on to see a geyser and lunch. This was our first day of our adventure with Icelandic Mountain guides. I am expecting a cup of soup from a turrine out of the back of the super jeep and ..."a sandwich. Instead we're are treated to a wonderful lunch at this restaurant. The soups were great, the vegetable was reminiscent of mom's that I grew up with. A delicate broth and a wonderful array of winter veg. I went back for seconds on the Tomato soup which had great flavor a balance between the tomato and cream in the soup. The rest of the buffet was delicious, and went down well with a nice bottle of wine. Following the meal our guides gave us a great treat. The chef prepared a little open air snack. No television but free wifi, hot tub, breakfast and access to Icelandic ponies.   "I have just spent three nights here and am glad I chose this place. It's on a farm so very peaceful and you can see their horses, sheep (and lambs) up close and the other animals. The rooms are spotless and very comfortable with a powerful shower. I didn't use the hot tub out the back, but it is the..."re. Breakfast is great, with cereals, bread, ham, cheese etc as well as waffles. I really can't fault this place, it was a delight to stay here and the owners very happy to give you good local information about extra things to do in the area as well as the tourist trail. I did a short hike today to visit a thermal hot spring river that flowed down the side of a mountain. Perfectly located for a stop when doing the Golden Circle or to or from Vik, Skaftafell etc. Selfoss a short drive away for plenty dinner choices and there's a bonus supermarket as well.
