Unfortunately we were unlucky with the wearher as one Tropical Depression (FREDA) affected New Caledonia for three days but we had fun anyway for the New Year !!!! The prop..."erty is a little bit out of the way as it is in a tribal village in the north of Mare and you need a car to get around, which is not a problem as you need a car to get anywhere on Mare. A staff member from Nengone Village who had arrived to collect guests asked us if we were alright and then contacted the place we were supposed to stay at, on our behalf. When that fell through, we turne..."d up at this hotel several hours later, to stay here for a couple of nights and they were able to accomodate us. This is a typical 3 star resort. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. It's a very hybrid place. You could really be anywhere in the world. The location is in the south, which is a better area to stay on, when visiting Mare, although a hire car is needed wherever you stay on Mare because it is not a small island. It's very popular with families. There's a small pool. It is well laid out with a raised walkway leading to little bungalows. The staff greet and collect guests at the airport which is a nice touch.
