  "We recently stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks. The Amani Tiwi is a good holiday venue but lacks atmosphere and ambience. This is partly because the grounds are long and thin beside the meandering pools which run the whole length of the grounds and inside the accommodation blocks which form the perimet..."er. Also the hotel was only half full so the a la carte restaurants were quite empty. The food is fine, the rooms clean and airy, and the pool is great. The beach is a bit disappointing with a sandy bit at the top with a big seaweedy rocky area below. The entertainment is standard for Kenya with mime shows, dancers and acrobats. We had our hotel changed at the last minute from the Voyager so we had a long transfer from the airport as we had to take the ferry. This we had hoped to avoid.The hotel's biggest asset is its staff who were absolutely sensational, witty, funny and knowledgable...nothing was too much trouble.   "My husband and I stayed for two weeks is February, and did enjoy our holiday which was relaxing,however we did pay extra to upgrade our room, the room was not anything special and is right opposite the evening entertainment, so if you want a quiet room don't bother. The staff are fantastic and can'..."t do enough for you, The swimming pool is the best we have seen in a long time,but the hotel does lack and atmosphere, the food was fine but nothing to write home about, our Thomson rep Mercy is the best there can be no one else like her. We went on Safari with JT Safaris for the fourth time, he is the best, the number of times we have been with him speaks for itself. We will be going back to Kenya next year but to the North so we don't have the ferry crossing as the transfer this year took tree hours. " More >

  "We stayed here for 11 nights in May 2013 and really enjoyed our stay, we would def go back. The staff were very friendly always saying hello (Jambo) with a smile. I have never stayed anywhere which was so welcoming. It was particularly good during rainy season that the animation staff went out of..." their way to entertain guests so we were never bored plus I always felt the involvement was invited but never pushed so if you just wanted to lay by the pool and not get involved that was ok too. The evening entertainment was ok (dancing etc). Our room was fantastic, we had upgraded to a deluxe and it was a good size with a massive comfortable bed, mosquito nets, flatscreen TV, free water daily etc. The balcony was small but we hardly used it. It was clean and more than comfortable. As a vegetarian I often enter buffet dining rooms intrepidly, in fear of what I might get served but here there was no problems - the food was amazing.
