  "Well first my roommate and I reserved this a week and a half away for the day right after Thanksgiving so we got lucky to have anything. Next we decided to order the tent cabin package with everything including wood and ice each day (which after reading past reviews, the wood was questionable lol ) ..."the price was good for such short notice I didn't seem to have a problem with it the way it seems other people have. We camped in the tent cabin right next to the host RV. (go figure) and right next to the main entrance and restroom ..... And honestly for how messed up we got, I was eternally grateful for being next to the bathrooms throughout the night and being.next to the front entrance after getting lost in an 8hr hike lol so I can see how many people expect their privacy when comiing here, as we did, but in the end it was cool and no one seems to be bothered by anyone else.   "Recently stayed in Unit 2-4 (which is unit 2 of section 4). Most of the units are owned by individuals, with several owned by the Golf Club itself. This particular unit is an end unit right next to the 18th hole, and it has clearly been updated in both kitchen and bath areas. Reserving the weeken..."d package special is a great deal, and puts you just ten minutes away from the Big Basin park office. I ended up doing the Berry Creek Falls 10 mile loop trail and had an amazing time in the Boulder Creek area. I also played golf using the $29 early bird special (18 holes on a weekday when teeing off before 8:30am, which includes golf cart). A quick drive into Boulder Creek provides a variety of shops and restaurants and I can highly recommend a stop at New Leaf Community Market which seems to be a small version of a Whole Foods type store. Excellent stay all around, would highly recommend this unit if looking to hike in Big Basin which is a fabulous State Park. " More >

  "If you have never visited the Big Basin park you owe it to yourself to make it an objective to spend at least one weekend there. A day hike at Big Basin just won't allow you to cover the terrain and experiences that make it such a magical place. Less than a 45 minute drive from San Jose, California,..." it is a wonderful place to be in touch with nature, and the simpler things in life. The tent cabins offer the convenience of a roof and a warm room, with bathrooms and coin-operated showers withing walking distance. The campgrounds, picnic tables, and fire pits were in excellent condition when I stayed here. A word of warning though: bring your own firewood, or buy it at the closest town (Boulder Creek). The price for firewood inside the park is too high. Cooking over wood-fire in the grill provided by the state park was a hoot. The campgrounds host was very friendly, as most of the park staff. Little interaction was required with them, as lucky for us everyone respected the common rule... " More >
